So lately, I have been cleaning up my room and throwing out things. Please keep this in mind: I have lived in the same house my whole life and I have not thrown out A SINGLE THING. I still have all my childhood toys and shit. Anyway, I came across this folder that has all the papers I received when I went to therapy close to 10 years ago. When I opened it up, the paper on the very top stuck out to me and probably sunk in somehow those years ago, because I live very close to that way now, and have had all of these experiences occur.
"Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but when you lock eyes with them, you know that every moment that they will affect your life in some profound way. Sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power, or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in youself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own life and then go out and live it."
Weird that it took about 7 years before most if any of that kicked in. My big philosophy nowadays is "everything happens for a reason," and didn't realize until now that this is where I got that statement from.
On other news, the band situation is finally getting out of the gutter. We have a few people lined up for auditions, one being my friend Lauren (Katie - the chick who looks like you, and by the way, we're still gonna do that death metal sax, clarinet, and drum band) for vocals, the old vocalist who is gonna give it another go, another dude who I dunno if he's still in the mix or not for vox, and my old friend Stef from years gone by to do bass. I ran into her tonight for the first time in a while, she needs a band, we have one, she kicks ass, and apparently she's a damn good bassist.
Going to bed with my back and knees still sore from Saturday night, yet I smile a big goofy grin when I remember where those aches came from. :D

Anthrax - In My World |
] |
Been forever yet again since updating here. Been depressed lately, although am relieved to find out that Sue's vericose vein in the back of her head which has been causing massive headaches is finally feeling better after four days. Been listening to a lot of Bad Religion and Misfits lately (seems to be that I listen to Punk mainly when down...and it just ends up getting me more depressed because I remember old great times of when I was younger). Left Willy P because I couldn't afford to go back this semester, and I went back yesterday and had a really great day. Mitch treated me to my going away lunch, saw Lauren, Lindsay, and V for a long time, which was very nice, and they had a going away party for me, and saw a bunch of other cool people from my old dorm. I really miss that school, although I never EVER thought I'd actually say that. I'm probably going up on Friday to visit already, and I'm going to bring a very nice gift for Lauren, Lindsay, and V (just as good, if not better, than Corona). :D I'm also going to see about getting in next semester and changing my major.
In other news, I took Sue to see Anthrax in NYC as part of her Christmas present. We had a great time, got pictures of the soundcheck, show, and of us and the band. Met two awesome people while standing in line, and we went out to dinner with them and we took Sue to Saint Marks Place for her first visit. She wants to just go to Trash and Vaudville for her birthday and I'll blow a shitload of credit/cash on her then...and we'll probably go vinyl shopping there too, of course! Anyway, the set was awesome, saw a bunch of people at the gig I haven't seen in years in some cases, other cases were just a few months prior.
Christmas was good to me. My parents got me a new television that's really hip and was really cheap, a bunch of other cool shit, and most importantly, a Korean pressing of OverKill's I Hear Black on vinyl!!! Almost have every 'Kill vinyl pressed, including the singles. Sue made me a lot of cool stuff, including a smaller OverKill clock (I think I posted a picture of the one that Eileen gave me for my birthday) that would have been perfect for the dorm, but oh well, a box with a collage of OverKill album covers on the top, two more pairs of OverKill boxers, two personalized OverKill shirts, a pair of OverKill jeans, and I know I'm forgetting more items she got for me. My grandmother even knitted me a black and neon green scarf and hat (she knows my obsession, lol). Think it was a 'Kill Xmas??
I spoiled Sue rotten this year with a gold/white gold heart within a heart necklace with diamonds on one of the hearts, the Anthrax trip, an Exodus purse, two Motley Crue vinyls, two Motley Crue DVDs, the new Journey CD and DVD, seven John Denver vinyls, The Christmas Gift VHS, a Dangerous Toys vinyl, a cat calender, and some other stuff too that I can't remember (I think there were 19 gifts total for her).
OverKill tour coming up (grr, should be seven shows instead of only four for me) with some other kickass shows in the mix including two /Speed\Kill/Hate\ and Nuclear Assault shows, The Bronx Casket Co., and WASP. I just need money.
Highlights of the day: Spending about $430 on two new axls for my car. Good news is that they'll last me 100,000 more miles before they need to be replaced again. Also, getting one of the many talks that I have been enduring from the rents lately. Fun fun fun, great to be home...NOT! I want out to live my life and to be free.
I just want to get a good band together and tour the fucking world and/or be a roadie. Is that much to ask for??? I'm pretty fucking pathetic right now, on top of being really blue.
I just can never come to terms with certain things...

So here is my first ever attempt at writing lyrics. My new band, Endemic, just completed a song and since the vocalist isn't writing lyrics, I took a stab in the dark at writing some. The song is very Thrashy with a touch of Iron Maiden. Here they are, and any comments/questions/suggestions are extremely appreciated!
Obsession (working title)
(1st Verse) Looking through the eyes of fate, I see the way To fulfill what I've struggled for each day Hearing your voice, I don't feel lost/I have the key to unlock your box And I'm never...never going away!
(Bridge) I'm infected by you like a disease Because you always sure know how to please Our souls are pure, yet never blue As my crazies crawl inside of you
(Chorus) Never been fooled by you Doin' the things you do Lust is out of the question You're my obsession
(2nd Verse) The lights are out and your motor's revin'/I feel you cuming before it's gettin'/ To the climax of this act/Your nails dig deeper into my back Hearing your moans and feeling you quiver/It will be a while before I deliver I ain't like what you've had before/Open up wide, I'm giving you more!
(Bridge)
(Chorus)
(Solo)
(Chorus)
Let me know what you all think, please! Any advice is appreciated!

Well, well, well...think last time this fucking thing was updated was around the time of the last OverKill tour. QUITE a lot has happened since then. First and foremost, I found love in the name of Sue. Great gal, totally one in the same with her, beautiful lady, tons in common, can't get enough of her, heart aches for her when apart...this is love, as Bobby Ellsworth would say.
That's us on the third day of the OverKill tour, also being the third day we knew each other in person. Grew very strong ever since meeting each other, and it just got to be a greater and greater bond, which rose above the plutonic level. Isn't she beautiful? : D
So this summer has had quite a bit happening. First of all, got kicked out then readmitted into college, so I'll be joining the Willy P ranks again for hopefully the remainder of my college years (1.5 years remaining at the most, I hope). The Music Box job ended up being next to nothing, so I got a job at the Philly Pretzel cart in Quaker Bridge Mall which was only opened for a month, then the Music Box ended up having more work so I'm doing better career-wise again. Turned 21 finally, went to AC for the day with the rents to celebrate appropiately, then Vikki Sixx took me out in the evening for some Hardcore Cider at the Pub. The concert list is as follows:
Anthrax DVD taping show-6/3, /Speed\Kill/Hate\, Nuclear Assault, and Testament-6/5 (roadcrew for SKH, was backstage the entire day having a blast, got to bond very well with Mario from SKH), Judas Priest and Queensryche-6/10 (also part of Sue's birthday present), Twisted Sister-7/15, WASP, L.A. Guns, Metal Church (missed because they went on first, bastards), and Steven Pearcy-7/20 (had a comped $1500 hotel room in AC for the night which was totally beautiful-more on that later, and got into the show for free as well), Iron Maiden and Ozzfest-7/27 (Ozzy was sick, so more Maiden!!!), Metal Church-7/29
Upcoming shows for the remainder of the summer: Motley Crue-8/14 and Gigantour-8/24. Might do Twisted on the 21st, but not sure due to funds. Also, OverKill and Exodus will be back in October, so need to save money for that!! Said I wouldn't go to any of the festivals this summer, and I'm going to each and every one of them, lol!
For Sue's birthday (6/11), I took her to Priest the night before, and celebrated with her on the 13th. Went to NYC and hit up the Aquarium in Brooklyn, Coney Island, Little Italy, China Town, and a bit of Saint Marks Place. Also gave her presents this day, a lot of which slip my mind at the moment. Sue got me a ton of great stuff for my birthday, which I am too lazy to list at the moment. Just went to the Renaisance Faire in Tuxedo, NY yesterday for Virginia's birthday with her, roommate Mitch, and Dave (Thunderhawk) from the OverKill boards. Had a blast there, was quite a great time!
Wednesday, Sue and I are going on our own little vacation. See, when I went to AC on my birthday, I spent enough money (barely anything, really) to receive some nice things. So, I got a letter in the mail stating that I have $8 cash back, free parking always, AND a comped room for anytime Sun-Thurs. now through late September. So I figured, what the fuck, let's do it now while I'm not in school and while things are hectic and Sue needs a break from reality. Although it's only for a night, it'll be worth it definitely. Can't wait to go to sleep and wake up in my baby's arms. : D
Okay, that's about all for now; more will be updated as I get time and such. So in other words, I'll make another update in November probably, lol.

OverKill-Devil By The Tail |

So as many of you know, I've been busy following OverKill on tour last week and have only two more shows for this week. So far, I've hit up VA, MD, Poughkeepsie, NY, Philly, and NYC, and have Allentown, PA and Sayreville, NJ this week (Thursday and Saturday, respectively). So Friday, Virginia picked me up from school and we headed to the highway to Baltimore to pick up Patrick and then went to Virginia (after making a beer and cigarette stop) where we met up with Sue and Matt (from Philly) and then headed to the venue where we met up with Karen, Dave, and Mike. Here's the crew:

(clockwise starting at 6: Dave, Patrick, Tigger, Sue, Matt, myself, Virginia, Karen, Mike)
When we met up with Dave, he bought us all beer!!! Had dinner with these awesome people and chatted with the band a bit while they were in the restaurant portion of the venue. Sue and Matt were kind enough to take the tab. After this, we made our way to the guardrail where we stayed for the rest of the evening and saw quite an awesome show!!!! Lol, in the middle of the show, the guys threw Sue over the guardrail onto the stage where she remained for the rest of the evening headbanging in-between the monitors. D.D. kept forgetting a line in "Old School" so I filled it in for him for the first two nights. Helped the guys with the load-out after the show, in turn getting in good with the road crew-Shane and Kyle. Got D.D. to sign my bass as well, and Dave gave me two guitar picks. After the show, we headed back to the hotel in which all of us were staying save Dave and Karen, since they lived closeby. Saturday morning we went to Bob Evans in which Patrick treated us. Headed to the hotel in which Virginia worked a bit, Patrick and Matt slept, and Sue and myself did laundry. Was really cool bonding with her; felt like I've known her and the others for ages instead of for just a few hours. Eventually went to McDonald's and then off to the venue in which we drank in the parking lot by the bus and Dave and Derek came by a few times to shoot the shit with us. The doors open and we find Eric, their tour manager/drum tech/merch guy, and he takes a group shot of us. The show is killer again, and I got mistaken for Bobby Ellsworth a few times, hehe. Afterwards, Kyle invites us on the bus because we were chatting with Dave and Derek about getting a group shot of all of us with the band, so we hung out for a while on the bus and then got a picture (although no Derek because he was dead tired and we bullshitted for too long). Was nice to meet Tim finally!! We dropped Patrick off at his house, said our goodbyes, then off to the hotel where Virginia crashed and Sue, Matt, and myself hung out and drank a bit. Went out for a smoke, then Matt crashed, so Sue and I stayed up til about 8am just chatting. Again, nice to hang out with the girl, she's really sweet.
Sunday morning got a rude awakening when Virginia and Sue pulled the covers off of me; when this happened, apparently I flipped Sue off, lol. I have no recollection of it to be honest. Got ready, then headed off to Denny's for food, said our goodbyes to Sue and Matt, then off to Poughkeepsie, NY (made a stop at the school to pick up my roommate, Mitch)!! Got to the show, met up with Kevin who took Derek out to dinner, then went inside to say hello to Eric. He's been extremely nice to me this whole tour; I'll get him something nice for the end of the tour. Saw Levente there, great seeing you again dude!!! Again, killer gig; helped out Bobby a bit with some lyrics, hehehe. After the show, hung out with Eric, Derek, and Dave a bit, then went outside and got a present from Bobby.
Tuesday brought the Philly show which was D.D.'s birthday, so we got him three party sized bags of Peant M&M's. Honestly, this was the best sound overall. Met up with Sue and Rick-T at this gig (Viginia was there obviously as well, lol; she's going to 10 total) and hung out with them for the night. During "Rotten To The Core," Sue gave Bobby a look like "what are you doing??" so Bobby yells into the microphone "help me out, Drew!" because I was headbanging and singing so he couldn't see what I was saying, lol. They brought out a cake for D.D. which said "Happy Birthday Scumbag," lol. During the middle of "Fuck You" when Bobby interacts with the crowd a bit, I yelled out "we don't care even when you sing the wrong verses!!!" He started laughing and just called me a pussy; I stumped the quick-witted Bobby!!!! After the show, I helped out with the load-out again, and got back the bag of stuff that Sue and I brought along to get signed. Hung out with all the band minus D.D. because he came around when I was still helping out. Definitely good times were had by all!!!
Thursday I arrived at the venue around 2:30pm and hung around with Eric, Kyle, and Shane a bit. Mike Skodnick came to the venue around this time. Did a few runs for the band to get spare parts and such, and hung out with Bobby and Derek when we got back. Tim also came out and chatted with him a bit as well. The rest of the crew eventually arrived, and Karen, Mike, and myself went to dinner together. During Sonata Artica's set, we were sooo bored Karen and I kept leaving to smoke (no smoking in NYC) and then we were up front too close to leave, so we did the twist to stay awake, and did other random shit to make fun of the band. OverKill comes out about 10 minutes after Sue and Matt arrived, and once 'Kill hit the stage, the make-shift guardrail the venue provided collapsed under pressure!! I heard Sue screaming (she was always on my left at every show) and she broke her back a few years ago, so she has a bad back and I thought the worst. The guards pushed around the crowd a bit causing all my buds to fall and then Sue was pulled out by Kyle from the front. I spent the night laying on the guardrail headbanging (it was being held up by a set of stairs used to prop it up); had a great fucking time nonetheless. Did the load-out again, hung out with all of the band except for Dave and Tim because they went to get pizza. Told Derek that I really did enjoy myself but I was concerned about my buds especially Sue because of her back. He had no idea about her back, so I told him the story of how it was broken and the expression on his face looked like it happened to his son!! He told me that next time I talk to her to tell her he hopes she is alright and doing well, and I told him I'd call her on the way to Port Authority. Actually got to chat with D.D. a bit for once, which was nice. Kyle bought me a pack of cigarettes as well. Said my goodbyes to D.D. since he was the last one outside before I had to leave, then headed home. Fell asleep on the bus ride back, hehe.
Tomorrow brings King Diamond, as does Wednesday. Thursday is back to OverKill and so is Saturday. I have the setlists which I'll post after the tour is over. All in all, this has been one of the best, if not the best, experiences of my life!!! I'm having a grand time, and wouldn't do it any other way!

So, here's the review for the Motorhead show on 3/9/05 that I've been procrastinating doing. My bud Virginia met me in South Amboy and picked me up and brought me to the Starland Ballroom. She called her bud who works the load-in and load-out and he put us on the guestlist, so we got in for free!! Once inside, we met up with our bud Mike Skodnick and proceeded to Phil's side of the stage (stage right). There were three opening bands: COC (Corrosion Of Conformity), Zeke, and another band that sucked. Zeke came on after the crappy band and fucking rocked! This was my first exposure to them and they reminded me of a combo of The Ramones (attitude-wise) and Motorhead on speed, if that's possible!! Virginia was saying that she was having a flashback to when she saw The Ramones back in the early 80's (with Marky, so very close to original line-up...fucking lucky!!). Very impressed by them, definitely picking up some of their records soon. Around this time, some dude comes up to me and is like, "yo, do you have a livejournal??" Turns out to be this dude John! He was cool as shit, we'll be hanging at some of the upcoming OverKill shows. Next up was COC who owned as well. I only knew a few of their songs from hearing them in friend's cars, high school, videos, etc., but I'm definitely glad I got to see them. I just wish I was more familiar with their material, but still headbanged relentlessly. Around 10:30, MOTORHEAD hit the stage. They all come out, the lights hit the stage, then Lemmy says, "We are Motorhead. We play Rock 'N Roll." Then they blast right into Doctor Rock and then immediately into Stay Clean. The rest might not be in the right order other than those two and the last two, but they were all played. Here's the setlist from my friend Dave's recollection:
Doctor Rock Stay Clean Shoot You In The Back Love Me Like A Reptile Over The Top Killers Going To Brazil R.A.M.O.N.E.S. (dedicated to Dee Dee, Joey, Johnny, Marky, and Dimebag Darrell) Metropolis No Class In The Name Of Tragedy Sacrifice Just 'Cuz You Got The Power Don't Mean You Got The Right I Got Mine Dancing On Your Grave Iron Fist Killed By Death Whorehouse Blues (big fucking surprise!!! Mikkey and Phil were on acoustic guitars, while Lemmy sang and played harmonica) Ace Of Spades
They also played about 2-3 others off of Inferno. They were supposed to close with OverKill, but Mikkey drank ice cold water extremely fast and it messed up his stomach so badly that he was in the bathroom for at least two hours after the show. Oh well, only missed one song, and Ace Of Spades was a great fucking closure.
After the show, picked up some killer shirts; the tour ones for myself and Virignia (they were OverKill green, we had to!) and I picked up an Inferno album shirt for my roommate, then we went out to the back of the venue to wait for the boys. We were outside for at least two hours before they came out, Phil being the first. In the meantime, the three of us end up shooting the shit with this guy Dave who we later find out is from the OverKill bulletin board. We survived the bitter cold with him (I think it was like 10 degrees out then, we're talking like 12:30-2:30). Finally, we see Phil (guitarist of Motorhead) in his underwear walking in the front of the bus (they had ladies on there, do the math), then about 10 minutes later, he comes out and signs everything and takes pictures. He even brought us back in the venue to escape the cold! We got the boot unfortunately when we checked on Mikkey, but then Lemmy came out. I got a business card signed by him (and Phil), tried getting a picture but all these fuckers surrounded him as soon as we were in a pose. No one really talked to him except for us; everyone just shoved things to get autographed in his face. Lemmy and myself were talking about their appearance on The Young Ones. He said "it was extremely boring and they were dull college kids; it was terribly boring." Anyways, Virginia got a pic with him and us and Skodnick got pics with Phil, so it was cool. After Lemmy left, Phil came back and gave us the rundown about Mikkey and that he was doing a lot better. He was inquiring about bars in the area, and since Virginia used to live in South Amboy, she gave him some names. After leaving around 3:30, we went to Denny's on Route 18 and hung out there for a while. After that, Virginia was soo kind enough to drive me back to school, getting back around 5 and in bed by 5:30...poor thing didn't even get home until 5:30ish. All in all, a great fucking night!!

Tonight, I will be going to see Motorhead at The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. I'll be wearing blue jeans, b/w Chuck Taylors, and a sleeveless OverKill Wrecking Your Head Tour 1987 shirt. If anyone sees me there, come up and say hi!! I'll most likely be on stage right on or near the guardrail.

"Outside the leaves are slowly falling from the trees Black clouds are moving in, a storm is coming on Inside the confessional, Angel and I are playing games I'm acting the priest, and she is the sinner of all my dreams... Dreams, dreams, turn into a nightmare A sudden change on her face, her smile is gone without a trace "Nothing... nothing is forever", she said"
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. :(

So yes, I know I'm insane, and I'm going to die afterwards, but these are my upcoming plans. First of all, new Judas Priest this coming Tuesday, "Angel Of Retribution," and on March 23rd is OverKill's "ReliXIV." So in the next two months, I'm going to 9 shows, most of which are in the span of three weeks. Here are the dates:
3/9 Motorhead Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, NJ 4/8 OverKill Jaxx, Springfield, VA 4/9 OverKill The Thunderdome, Baltisnore, MD 4/10 OverKill The Chance, Poughkeepsie, NY 4/14 OverKill B.B. King's, NYC 4/19 King Diamond B.B. King's, NYC 4/20 King Diamond B.B. King's, NYC 4/21 OverKill Crocodile Rock, Allentown, PA 4/23 OverKill Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, NJ
I'm going on a roadtrip with my bud Virginia to the VA, MD, NY, and PA 'Kill shows, and she's going to be at the other shows as well. We're picking up our bud Patrick for the VA and MD shows. Anna is going to be at the NJ show, and Mike will be at the first KD show and the NYC and NJ 'Kill shows. I can't fucking wait for this, this is going to be so much fun!!!

Oh, man. Tonight was a ton of fun. I went to the bowling alley with Jen and a bunch of other people. Teams were me, Jen, Phelicia, and Eric vs. Bryan, Jacquie, Allison, Amanda, and some other girl whose name began with a C. It was fun as hell. Bought like four beers, got one for free, and had about half a pitcher of beer. I sucked ass after drinking, hahahaha!!! It was a lot of fun though; we are planning to do this on a weekly basis now.
Okay, so a few weekends ago, I met Jen because we were both stuck here due to the blizzard, so she invited me over to play some Sorry! with her. We played for about 3-4 hours, then I went back over later and Jen, Jacquie, Amanda, and Allison were drunk as hell. This dude Dave from across the hall from Jen's room came by later as well as I did, and we took care of 'em. Allison wasn't too bad, so she helped out a shitload too. i stayed until 3:30 am to make sure that they would be alright. Jacquie was puking her brains out, Jen puked too but not as badly. I took care of them for a long time, just helping them out and such. I'm glad I met Jen; she's really a big sweetheart, and we're going to go to OverKill together. She made sure I was gonna be alright tonight and such before she left; I gave her chocolate and the OverKill DVD to borrow.
I miss Anna a lot...we had a huge fight, but all is swell now. :) She is a big sweety as well. She rules, so does Jen...people rule!!!!!! ArrrrGH!!! ROTTEN TO THE FUCKING CORE; HELLO FROM THE FUCKING GUTTER!!!!!!!

Paul Baloff Remembered: A Tribute To The Fallen Exodus Frontman RIP 1960-2002
By Edward "Ace" Annese, RealityCheck TV Thursday, February 7, 2002 @ 12:16 AM
Members Of Metallica, Testament, Death, Anthrax And Slipknot Share Memories & Thoughts In Tribute To Fallen Exodus Frontman Paul Baloff
Paul Baloff was perhaps one of the unlikeliest frontmen in thrash metal. Looking like a cross between the Tazmanian Devil and those little troglodyte dolls with the big hair, Paul was definitely an original.
His influence on Thrash cannot be disputed. As Lead Throat for Metal Pioneers Exodus, he recorded one the genre's seminal albums, Bonded By Blood. And even though Exodus went on without him, that record and lineup were still the ones the fans clamored for years after his departure from the band.
Over the years, his Legend only grew, and the fans were treated to a reunion of the classic Bonded By Blood lineup, resulting in a live disc and world tour.
In the last couple years, Exodus and Paul have played together sporadically, including the memorable Thrash of the Titans Benefit for Chuck Billy of Testament. More recently, the band had begun to gear up a little, booking some west coast dates and talking about recording a new disc. There was also talk of Paul & co. doing a new theme song for one of Paul's favorite Pro Wrestling Tag-Teams --The Road Warriors of the fledgling XWF.
Alas, 'twas not to be.
One of Rock's true wildmen was felled by a stroke while riding his bike in Oakland. Despite the best efforts of all concerned, he slipped away from this mortal coil this past Sat. Feb 2nd. He is missed by the band, his friends and the fans for his Showmanship, sense of humor, love of life and general zaniness. It was never a dull moment with Paul around...
A Public Memorial is being held on February 12th at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, courtesy of friend and DNA club manager Alexis Olson. There is a minimum of a $5 donation requested for Paul's Memorial Fund. Music provided by the Master of Metal himself, DJ Ron Quintana of KUSF 90.3 Rampage Radio fame. (note: it's age 21 and up to be admitted). Doors open at 8pm and eulogy starts at 9:30pm
In addition, a new ESP guitar autographed by the remaining members of Exodus will be auctioned off during The Bone Metal Zone with host Billy Steel at 107.7 FM, Friday night at 7pm. The winner will be presented with the guitar during the memorial.
Okay, I don't really fucking care if you don't want to read this and prefer a LJ-cut. This is Paul Baloff we're talking about, one of the most influental and craziest mother fuckers in Thrash history. He lived and breathed Metal...if you looked up Heavy Metal in the dictionary, you should see a picture of this man next to the definition. Unfortunately, he's only been on one Exodus studio record (and I believe he did one or two Piranha albums too). I had an opportunity to see him perform with Exodus at the Metal Meltdown IV in 2002, but unfortunately, he passed away about two months before the show. A very sad day in the history of Metal...
R.I.P. Paul Baloff...you are gone, but NEVER forgotten. We kicked in your face, and raped, and murdered your wife. It's been three years too many. Your impact will stay in the hearts of Thrashers and Metalheads for generations to come. To end with a quote from the almighty,
"MURDER IN THE FRONT ROW, THE CROWD BEGINS TO BANG...THERE'S BLOOD UPON THE STAGE, BANG YOUR HEAD AGAINST THE STAGE, METAL TAKES ITS PLACE...BONDED BY BLOOD!!!!"

George: "Yesterday we played with our balls. Are we going to play with our friend's balls today?" Bungle: "Yes, and we can play with our twangers as well." Geoffrey (to camera): Have you seen Bungles twanger? Zippy: "Oh I have, I showed him how to pluck with it." Bungle: "It's my plucking instrument." Geoffrey asks the audience if they can pluck like Bungle Zippy: "I can, I'm the best plucker here." George: "And I'm good at banging. My peg's hard isn't it Zippy?" Zippy: "Well of course it is, Your peg wouldn't go in if it was soft."
One of the many great excerpts from the script. Funny, funny, funny shit!!

::Show took place two Saturdays ago::
The show was fucking great! Drove down with Skodnick and met up with Thorne at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. We were right up front in between Dee and J.J. (center towards the left when looking at the stage). Before BB played, there were three openers. The first one, Ashton, was fucking terrible! Their drummer was the only thing going for them. It wouldn't have been so bad if their vocalist/secondary guitarist wasn't so annoying and could actually work his equipment properly. The second band which the name slips my mind (Helium, Oxygen, Spit...something like that, help me out Thorne!) was a three female/one male lineup. They had a really dirty sound that unfortunately was due to the micing of the amplifiers, but they were fairly decent. Entertaining, were all into their music (the drummer was headbanging her ass off the whole time). The third band, Z02, featured a Steven Hyde from That 70's Show lookalike on guitars and vocals, a Carnivore era Petrux Steele w/ shorter hair on bass and vocals, and a non-tattooed modern Tommy Lee on drums and vocals. They were all in the 70's garb; decent at first, but their novelty quickly wore off. The bassist was touring with The Transiberrian Orchestra this past Winter; they all had talent, but just need to lose Hyde. Next, Bent Brother hit the stage. They were top notch, very professional, sounded really great. Got the setlist and both of J.J. French picks, pink and yellow. The setlist is as follows:
What You Don't Know The Kids Are Back Breakin' The Law (Priest cover) The Beast We're Gonna Make It Under The Blade Plastic Money Shoot 'Em Down Whole Lotta Rosie (AC/DC cover) Sin After Sin Burn In Hell (Drum Solo) We're Not Gonna Take It I Wanna Rock Tear It Loose The Price You Can't Stop Rock 'N Roll
After the show while waiting in line for shirts, we ran into Skullcrusher911 and her friend (her name slips my mind at the moment). Also ran into some other folks who were at the Halloween 'Kill gig. Thorne, Skod, and myself went to the back by Dee's Hummer waiting for him to come out. About 30 minutes later, he arrived. In the meantime, we hung out with about 10 others waiting for Dee. Dee was awesome, took the time to hang with everyone. Thorne and I both got our setlists signed, Skod got his ticket signed, and we all got pictures taken with Dee, thanks to Thorne. Great time, anyone who hasn't seen BB or TS before, do so next time they're in town.

OverKill-Fuck You |

So, today in my dorm, I was playing Grim Reaper's "Rock You To Hell" and Megadeth's "PSBWB?" at a moderate level, not even that loud. I go outside to have a smoke and I see a sign on my door stating, "Please turn down your music (it's a bit distracting when we're trying to study or nap). Thanks! -Your hallmates." Being this was about 6pm and quiet hours start at 10pm, I said fuck that. I responded to the note saying, "IF IT'S TOO LOUD, THEN YOU'RE TOO OLD!!!" quoting my high school environmental science teacher. Left the note up there, and proceeded to blast Slayer's "Reign In Blood." We do have about 25% new people on the floor, and I've never had a complaint like that before, so they're just gonna have to get used to it because everyone else does it too. Besides, who fucking naps at 6pm and/or studies then?? Fuck that, dudes and dudettes.
